Ihre Web-Agentur wird zusammen mit einer englischen Agentur ein Webprojekt in einem zeitlich eng begrenzten Rahmen durchführen. Sie müssen sich grundsätzlich Gedanken zu Teamgrößen und Personaleinsatz machen. In einem Buch über Multimedia-Projekt lesen Sie folgenden Text:
Design teams generally consist of a number of people, depending on the size of the project and available resources.
The number of people placed in a group can make a difference in the group‘s success. Group numbers may depend on the members´ abilities, number of computers, time constraints, project requirements, cooperative group method, and other variables. A study provides the following points about group size:
- As the size of the group increases, the range of abilities and viewpoints increases. Additional members may help the group succeed, and varying viewpoints will challenge the members to more critically evaluate their own viewpoints and opinions.
- The larger the group, the more skillful the members must be at ensuring that they remain on task, that everyone has a chance to speak, reaches a consensus and maintains good working relationships. Interactions increase as the group size increases, requiring additional interpersonal skills.
- As group size increases, there is less face-to-face interaction among members and a reduced sense of intimacy Lower individual responsibility may result, as well as a less cohesive group.
- If a short period of time is available, smaller groups should be used. Smaller groups can take less time to get organised, and they may operate more quickly.
- The smaller the group, the more difficult it is for members to avoid their share of the work. Small groups make members more accountable by increasing the visibility of their work.
- The smaller the group, the easier it is to identify group difficulties, including leadership struggles or unresolved conflicts. Problems are more visible and more easily addressed in small groups.
